Our customer is a leading storage company based out of USA. The company specializes in network-attached storage (NAS) systems designed for
midsized to large enterprises; its filers can also be deployed in Fibre Channel
and IP-based storage area network (SAN) configurations. It also provides
operating system, data management, and content delivery software.
The
Challenge -
To design, develop and
test an enterprise-grade "File Virtualization Storage Management
Product" in the windows space with a comprehensive Management UI.
The
Solutions -
In this turnkey
engagement, Calsoft was responsible for design, development and testing of a
“File Virtualization Product” in Windows space. The Project involved working on
a comprehensive management UI, involving over 100 screens for the product.
Calsoft applied its multidisciplinary expertise to deliver cross-geography,
multi-organizational product realization service. At the outset, Calsoft
defined the project management, quality management, and knowledge management
process with the customer. The key characteristics of the project were -

We
used their Market Research Document (MRD) as starting point for design.
High-level design and Low level design was completed at Calsoft and reviewed by our customer. Senior Architects from Calsoft working on-site with Product Management
& Technical teams from customer side to initiate the project. The on-site phase
was followed by production & approval of a High Level and then a Low Level
Design Documents. Calsoft then produced a detailed Project Plan and development
and testing was undertaken based on that plan. The Calsoft team was responsible
for all activities leading to the shipment of the product for initial customer
beta testing.
